Internet firm cuts racist's Web site

An Internet service company has pulled the plug on its most controversial customer, a Roanoke white supremacist who used his Web site to suggest that six black youths be lynched.

Global Web Solutions cut off service to William A. White on Sunday, after receiving complaints about White's online commentary on the so-called Jena Six case in Louisiana, company owner Randy Armbrecht said Wednesday.

White has since restored the Web site, although not all of the previous links have been updated.

In a posting last week, White published the names and addresses of six black youths charged with assaulting a white classmate in Jena, La., along with the words: "Lynch the Jena 6."

The FBI is investigating whether that broke any laws -- a decision that Armbrecht said he has already made.

Viewers' Comments On Randy Salerno - Part 21

Keep family first. Cherish your friends. Remember where you came from. Live in the moment. The "smart-aleck" kid from Crystal Lake taught us many things by just being himself. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy.--Curt Mitchell, Hinsdale, ILI have written before, but I had to tell this story. When Randy died it hit me hard as it was so sad, as he left his family and friends behind. After watching all the tributes and hearing the stories of Randy from his friends and family, I realized he was just like my brother-in-law who was killed going on three years in Aug. on Lake Shore Drive in a traffic accident. Jeffrey who was killed was just like Randy and would get away with comments of how he handled himself. I was with Jeffrey the day he died as we buried my friend his cousin, and we were sitting at the table for the lucheon and Jeffrey had us in stiches laughing.

DALLAS, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- One hundred years ago, three young entrepreneurs, Herbert Marcus, Sr., his sister Carrie Marcus Neiman, and her husband A.L. First, Step Up

With no money and no organization, seven of us launched StepItUp in January 2007. Before the year was out, we'd helped organize 2,000 demonstrations in all 50 states-and helped take our once-radical demand for an 80 percent reduction in U.S. carbon emissions by mid-century into the halls of power.

We haven't won yet-but we're way beyond what we could have expected when we began. Last November, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stood at a podium in front of 7,000 college students gathered from around the country at the University of Maryland and led them in a chant: "80 percent by 2050." I'm as cynical as the next guy, but it feels like our democracy is starting to work.

It will need to work much better, though. We'll need to see a whole new level of commitment-to nonviolent protest, to electioneering, to endless lobbying.

California gov site invaded by smut and malware again

Raising troubling questions about the security of America's government websites, more domains ending in .gov have been found hosting links that push porn and malware.

They include the Marin County Transportation Authority, which has has watched its site get hacked at least twice before. In early October the domain forced the shutdown of all California government websites until admins could remove the links. A week after the sites were disinfected, the rogue pointers returned.

Milwaukee vs. Philadelphia

He tied a season high with 22 points and added 13 rebounds while making 10 of his 11 field-goal attempts in the Sixers' 117-83 win over Seattle on Friday night.

"It's been a little while since I had fun. It's been a little while since I enjoyed myself," Dalembert said. "I'm just trying to go back to that same way no matter what happens. Winning is our goal, but sometimes you have to try to look for the fun."

It might be easier to have fun with the Sixers suddenly thriving. They're hoping to pull within three games of .500 for the first time since they were 14-17 on Dec. 31, and appear optimistic about their chances of advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2005.

"I just love the way we're playing," Dalembert said. "We're winning basketball (games) so that's most important."

While Dalembert has just come on recently, Philadelphia has gotten significant contributions from a number of players during its hot streak.

Pakistan's victors may lack strength to oust Musharraf

But Malik said most senior members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, the pro-Musharraf party, had lost their seats. He said those who had won were not so strongly affiliated with the party as to be unacceptable.

He said it would take three or four more days of talks to work out a coalition.

Sharif and Zardari are due to meet Thursday in Islamabad. Pakistan Peoples Party officials say a coalition between their two parties would be the strongest and best combination.

One compelling reason is that Sharif's party is the strongest in the important province of Punjab, Pakistan's most populous. It is likely to form the government there, and so should be part of the national one, too. Any national government that does not have the Punjab government on board is intrinsically unstable, the party officials said.

ECU Silver Confirms Eastern Extension of Terneras Vein

The table shows assay results for the three series of chip samples, the average of these chip samples and the average grade diluted over a one metre thickness, using nil values for the diluted host rock. The chip samples averaged 0.17 metres grading 7.11 g/t gold, 1,865 g/t silver, 13.01% lead and 9.04% zinc. Also shown in the table is a metallurgical sample for the entire 12 metre cut taken over a one metre total width which yielded 3.4 g/t Au, 1,095 g/t Ag, 5.66% Pb and 6.06% Zn.

This confirmation of the strike and dip of the Terneras vein is consistent with the drill intercept reported October, 16th 2007, where 0.30 metres grading 2.70 g/t gold, 2,097 g/t silver, 0.55 % copper, 17.95% lead and 11.57% zinc was reported in hole SJ 14-02 approximately 256 metres below this recent cross-cut.
